Thank you again for buying the Brooks Trading Course.

The 53 video files are divided among 4 ZIP files, and we sent you an email with download links for the course. Please make sure that your email address is valid and that you typed it in correctly.

General information

The links expire in 72 hours, but please do not worry if you run out of time… just ask me (Contact Al) for fresh links and I will be happy to send them to you. The first zip file contains a folder that holds the first 15 videos, which are on price action fundamentals. The next zip file contains the remaining videos on fundamentals. The final two zip files contain videos that explain how to trade, and the trading is based on those price action principles.

Simply click on the first link and the download will begin automatically. Once one file is downloaded, repeat process for the second, third, and fourth links.

After you have downloaded the four zip files, either double-click each file to unzip it, or go to Windows Explorer and open one of the files. You will see a folder inside. Open it, select all of the files within it, and then copy and paste them to the location of your choice on your computer. As they are being pasted, they will unzip. At that point, you can watch each video.

If the zip files do not open and you get a message telling you that you need Winzip, you do not. You can simply Right-Click on the zip file, and then choose Open With Windows Explorer (not with Winzip). That should allow the automatic unzipping.

On many Macs, just clicking on the zip folder will unzip it automatically.

The videos have a .MP4 extension which plays well in Windows and on Macs. The MP4 zip files are also smaller, faster downloads than other formats.

However, once you have them downloaded, PLEASE make a backup copy onto an external drive, like a flash drive. You should be able to buy an 8 GB flash drive for about $10, and this is big enough to hold all videos.

Troubleshooting

When downloading large zip files, there are many potential problems that can prevent you from downloading them. They can involve settings on your computer, your downloading software, your browser, and your internet provider. Any of these can automatically block the downloading of zip files. There can also be problems with you having a slow wireless connection, and problems with my website, my web host, and my cloud storage, and probably others that I have yet to encounter. However, every trader so far has eventually been able to download the course.

If you do not receive the email with the links to download the Brooks Trading Course videos, please check your spam folder. Some computers will automatically deactivate the links unless you override the system and keep the links active. Other computers will immediately show a screen with some error message and not begin the download. When that is the case, please add the download site to your Trusted Sites and then try the download again. Here is a link on how to add a Trusted Sites:

Within trusted sites, you might have to lower the security level to download the files. You can raise it again after you download the course.

Since each file is about 800 MB, which is large, each can take up to an hour or more to download. If you are using a WiFi connection (a wireless router), you might get a brief disruption or two and not notice it, but it could be enough to corrupt the file and make it impossible to open. If you have the option, you should instead consider connecting to the internet via a cable (like an Ethernet cable from your computer to your modem).

Some internet service providers have restrictions that are impossible for you to know, and you might try downloading on a computer at work or at a friend’s house.

Traders using Outlook often have a problem downloading the files. It is usually better to just use the mail program within your browser. If one browser does not work, try another (Windows, Google Chrome, and Firefox are the most popular).

If you use Outlook, open the e-mail and look at the top row for an icon called “Other Action.” It should be after “Reply” and some other options.
Click on the icon and scroll almost to the bottom.
Click on “View in Browser.”
The browser will open with the e-mail, and the links should work.

If Windows does not play the mp4 videos, it might give an error message like: Error: “Windows Media Player cannot access the file (see below). The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.”

If so, please try the following:

1. Click on the Windows Start button
2. Go to Control Panel
3. Select “SOUND”
4. Double click on speakers
5. Click on advanced tab, and then uncheck “enable audio enhancements”

If you are using an older version of Windows Media Player (Windows Vista or earlier) you can download the free public domain VLC media player which is highly reliable.

iOS devices like the iPad, iPhone, and iPod are fundamentally unable to download and store files from the web. They will try very hard to display them however.

If you need the file on your iOS device we recommend you download it on your computer and use iTunes to put it there.
