Kelley M. Anderson, PhD, FNP, is an assistant professor of nursing at Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies. She has been a faculty member in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program since 2007, serving as the assistant director of the FNP program from 2011 to 2013 and as the coordinator of the FNP Georgetown campus cohort since 2011. Dr. Anderson is certified as a family nurse practitioner and has held a clinical position as a nurse practitioner at Medstar, Georgetown University Hospital in the Division of Cardiology since 2002. In 2013 she began collaborating with the Arlington Street People Assistance Network (A-SPAN) to provide primary health care services to the homeless in Arlington, Virginia.
Dr. Anderson received her BSN from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, her MSN from the University of Texas, Austin, post-MSN FNP certificate from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and a PhD from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. She has peer-reviewed publications in Heart & Lung: The Journal of Acute and Critical Care, Clinical Scholars Review: The Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice, American Journal of Critical Care, Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Journal of Nursing Education, Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, and OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing. Dr. Anderson is a reviewer for three scholarly journals and received the 2013 Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing from Heart and Lung: The Journal of Acute and Critical Care. She is a member of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses, serving on the Education Committee; the Northern Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, serving on the Nominations and Awards Committee; Sigma Theta Tau, serving as graduate counselor for the Tau Chapter; and member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Heart Association, and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties.
