Description

Dr. Richard Shaughnessy discusses Campylobacter infection and make you aware of other sources of food borne sources of transmission.

Objectives:

  • Diagnose and treat Campylobacter infection
  • Mitigate acute and late clinical manifestations
  • Differentiate atypical presentations of Campylobacter

Richard Shaughnessy, DO graduated from Western University-COMP and completed his internal medicine residency at the Banner Good Samaritan/Phoenix VAMC, serving as a chief resident. Dr. Shaughnessy completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and joined Arizona Digestive Health in central Phoenix. He serves as core faculty for the gastroenterology fellowship and is director of endoscopy at Banner University Medical Center. He is a founding member of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center of Excellence for Arizona Digestive Health. Dr. Shaughnessy lives in Phoenix with his wife Joanna and two children. He loves the outdoors, especially skiing.
