This lecture will introduce the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) as a diagnostic and treatment modality and identify the six principal types of Fascial Distortions.
• Recognize the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) as a diagnostic and treatment modality, define the nomenclature and terminology of the FDM, and identify six principal types of Fascial Distortions.

This program was planned and implemented by the Montana Osteopathic Association (MOA) and was accredited by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons (MAOPS).

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Grievance Policy:
All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance. Initially, all grievances should be directed to MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee. All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt. If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, then they can then submit a complaint in writing to the Bureau of Osteopathic Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Byron Perkins DO is an Osteopathic Family Medicine physician practicing at the Cornerstone Clinic, in Anchorage, Alaska. He attended medical school at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by residency at Doctor’s Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio. For most of the past 13 years, Dr. Perkins’ clinical work has involved Osteopathic Manipulation utilizing the Fascial Distortion Method, and he is a founding member of the Fascia Research Society, in addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the American Fascial Distortion Model Association. Board certified in Osteopathic Family Medicine, his current practice focuses on Primary Care, Mental Health & Wellness, Musculoskeletal Injuries and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment.
