John Beahrs, MD, is a psychiatrist retired from the Portland Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, and Professor Emeritus, Oregon Health and Science University. A three-time recipient of a Milton H. Erickson Award, Dr. Beahrs developed strategic self-therapy for treating personality disorders and a “shared self-deception hypothesis” of how human minds evolved. He is the author of three books, with two books in progress: Psychotherapy and The Reality Question.

Psychotherapist for over 25 years, internationally recognized for her books and training seminars in solutionfocused and Ericksonian therapy. Affliliated with the Milwaukee Brief Family Therapy Center. She has written six books, including co-authoring with the late Steve de Shazer and colleagues, More Than Miracles: The State of the Art of Solution-Focused Therapy , an update of the SFBT approach that will be published in 2006.

Eric Greenleaf, PhD, has treated patients, trained professionals, presented on and written about hypnotherapy for forty years. Milton Erickson, MD, chose Eric to receive the first Milton H. Erickson Award of Scientific Excellence for Writing in Hypnosis. Eric practices in Albany CA, and directs the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area, an association of licensed mental health professionals providing hypnotic psychotherapy to the San Francisco Bay Area community.
As director and founder of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of the Bay Area, Eric Greenleaf, Ph.D., has treated with, trained, presented and written about hypnotherapy for forty years. His book, The Problem of Evil: Ancient Dilemmas and Modern Therapy, appeared in 2000. Dr. Greenleaf’s unique style and extensive background in the use of hypnosis as an aid for enhancing lives and overcoming obstacles is truly something that must be experienced in order to be understood.

Richard Landis, PhD, is a clinical and medical psychologist, international trainer and author. He is the Executive Editor for the Milton H. Erickson Foundation Newsletter, the Director of Training for the Southern California Society for Ericksonian Psychotherapy and Hypnosis and Clinical Director of the Ericksonian Integrative Medical Institute of Orange County. He is board certified in traumatology, and holds diplomate status in the areas of integrated medicine, behavioral medicine, and psychopharmacology.
