Description
Description:
Hypnotic interventions can offer a cognitive shift toward tolerating uncertainty, positive expectancy, and a framework for taking action essential to helping the anxious person recover. Hypnosis is an opportunity to introduce and solidify these elements of active treatment.
Educational Objectives:
- Describe the importance of action versus avoidance in the treatment of anxiety disorders.
- Create a metaphor that suggests to the anxious client the need for action and practice.
- Create a post-hypnotic suggestion that supports the tolerance of uncertainty when feeling fearful or anxious.
